What to expect at your first appointment
When you first come to see an optometrist at our practice, you'll have a 40 minute comprehensive consultation and eye examination which includes an eye health check and optical prescription where necessary.
We’ll take the time to get to know you and your optical history, as well as any concerns you may have been experiencing.
We have many speciality tests and diagnostic equipment if further investigation for any eye health concern is needed.
If our tests uncover the need for vision correction, you’ll then be assisted one of our optical dispensers who will guide you through frame selection and let you know what lenses will be best for you.
We also have optometrists with extensive experience in testing the eyes of little ones and a range of tests suited to children so they feel comfortable and happy about their eye test. It is recommended all children have a routine eye examination before they start school.
Commonly our comprehensive examinations are bulk billed through Medicare or Department of Veterans Affairs.
Some further investigations incur a fee as they are not covered by the Medicare Benefits Scheme.
Some private health providers may give you a rebate for these tests however we are unable to claim this on the spot.
We are however able to claim any contact lenses or glasses through private health insurance with our on site HICAPS machine.
